Can Law Firm Partners Spare 20 Hours of Billables?	Top
Funding for the Legal Services Corp. has been secured for this budgetary year, but it will certainly be targeted again. Aric Press, ALM's editor in chief, asks if it's time for law firm partners to provide more concerted aid to the LSC and other worthy programs -- in tithes equivalent to 20 billable hours per person.
La Verne Law School on the Brink of Losing ABA Provisional Accreditation	Top
The University of La Verne College of Law could lose its provisional accreditation from the ABA, based on notice from the ABA's accreditation committee. Law school administrators have not yet been told why, but it likely has to do with the school's bar passage rate, said Dean Allen Easley.
O'Melveny Loses 7 N.Y. Partners to Paul Weiss, 2 to Weil Gotshal	Top

Budget Cuts Force Suspension of Program for Lawyers Facing Drug, Alcohol Abuse	Top
The New York State Lawyer Assistance Trust, which has, for the past 10 years, helped lawyers cope with alcohol and drug abuse problems, has suspended operations due to the state court system eliminating its funding. The trust's website says to check back in April 2012 to see if the program has been re-activated.
