If ever there was a quote to put pressure at work into context, this would be it: "When people around me at the law firm are stressed out and running down the corridor, I'm thinking, 'what's the matter? Nobody died, no one is haemorrhaging in front of you'."
The Hogan Lovells senior associate in question not only works full time in the firm's patents practice, but also holds down a weekend job as a GP. She is one of a band of latecomers to law profiled in our feature this week who all had careers elsewhere before training as lawyers. Not all coming from white collar backgrounds, they are certainly achievers.
