Five partners and up to 15 associates and counsel are leaving Willkie Farr as of Jan. 1 to take in-house jobs with one of the firm's largest clients, Bloomberg L.P. Bloomberg will get a new chief legal officer, Willkie corporate partner Richard DeScherer, a longtime confidant of company founder Michael Bloomberg.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are dumping their law firm networks and instead will let mortgage servicers hire their own lawyers to process foreclosures. Fannie Mae's Retained Attorney Network currently includes 191 firms, some of which have been accused of "robo-signing" documents, losing records and levying inappropriate fees.
