A District of Nebraska award of nearly $412,000 in attorney fees and costs to an inventor who sued Nike Inc for patent infringement has survived an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. But the court also affirmed the trial court's finding of noninfringement.
Judge Daniel Friedman, last original member of Federal Circuit, dies at 95	Top
He was also the last chief judge of the U.S. Court of Claims, the Federal Circuit's predecessor. Friedman served as chief of that court from 1978 until 1982, when it merged with the Court of Customs and Patent Appeals to become the Federal Circuit.
