Job Title: Lead PeopleSoft Administrator

Location: Monterey Park – CA

Duration: 11+ Months


Job Description:

As a PeopleSoft Administrator, you will work to ensure the uptime and stability of the PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 installation. The PeopleSoft Administrator will work with other members of the team as well as our Helpdesk/Infrastructure teams to resolve issues related to the databases, applications or systems. The candidate should show initiative, strong troubleshooting skills and welcome the opportunity to take a role in proactively improving our systems. Along with PeopleSoft some additional DB and systems administration will be required. The successful candidate will also be required to learn new technologies as they are implemented at Union Bank.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

        Install and maintain PeopleSoft environment to support production, test, development and other environments to support our implementation. The landscape of applications includes but not limited to PeopleSoft Financials 9.2, multiple internal applications that interface with PeopleSoft, databases, downstream application interfaces, to name a few.

        Setup and management of PeopleSoft architecture (application, web, batch, and database servers) for different phases of the implementation and in production. Works with the network team on scaling the infrastructure with load balancing and contribute to the storage decisions.

        Management of the introduction of new code, patches and upgrades into the PeopleSoft environments through proper configuration control processes and practices.

        Leads and participates in architecture team discussions and provides documentation to communicate status, project progress, and key decision making with all members of the team.

        Performs beta installation, testing and reports on pros and cons of new solutions to justify changes in the architecture / infrastructure. Works with the ITG architecture team on keeps them abreast of the architecture design/changes.

        Provide support and problem resolution to application or system issues as needed.

        Administer PeopleSoft system including bundle updates, tools upgrades, environment refreshes, monitoring of application server, web server, process scheduler and database. Defines and helps strategizing the automation of database refresh schedules and change control methodology.

        Monitor Systems and Applications maintained by ITG to ensure smooth operations and meet or exceed SLA's defined.

 

Required Skills:

        College degree, preferably a B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or the equivalent.

        7+ years' of experience supporting a PeopleSoft 8/9.x environment is required, and experience covering an entire PeopleSoft 9.x full life cycle implementation and/or upgrade is preferred.

        Demonstrated competency and skill with Application Servers, Process Schedulers, Integration Broker, People Tools, SQR, COBOL, Application Designer, Application Engine, Upgrade Assistant and all other technical components of the PeopleSoft architecture is required.

        Experience with PIA, WebLogic Apache, batch and reporting server configuration also required. In depth knowledge of database functions is required.

        Knowledge of current IT and computer science concepts, issues, practices, methodologies, and trends, particularly those relevant to database design and administration is required.

        Experience with analyzing and troubleshooting the interaction between databases, operating systems, storage devices and applications particularly in the areas of performance and resource usage is required

        Experience in working with operating systems and databases to establish monitoring and logging procedures is preferred

        Experience supporting people who depend on the availability and proper operation of production IT environments, including direct support to these people is required

        Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form, and work as part of a team

        Ability to establish work priorities and manage workload autonomously is required.

        Should be able to work with off-shore vendors and resources spread out globally.

        Should be able to work in a stressful environment.
