With 3,738 lawyers in 60 offices, Baker & McKenzie once again topped the NLJ 250 -- The National Law Journal's list of the largest 250 U.S.-based firms by attorney headcount. But when only U.S.-based lawyers are counted, that firm drops far down the list, and Jones Day moves to the top.
 
New Hires by U.S. Attorney Bring Northern Calif. Office to Record Staffing Level Top
Eight freshly minted federal prosecutors tapped by U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag for the Northern District of California began their new jobs on Monday. In all, Haag has added 10 prosecutors to her ranks so far, bringing the office total to 125 -- the most the office has seen, a spokesman said.
