With the help of his lawyer — Texas Lawyer's Litigator of the Week — Dr. Bruce N. Saffran has won more than $1.1 billion in judgments in two patent-infringement jury trials in U.S. District Judge T. John Ward's court over the past three years. The lawyer says Saffran has a cash war chest big enough to battle any appeal and not settle. The doctor and his counsel aren't finished yet; Saffran filed another patent infringement suit involving the same patent in the Eastern District, and a hearing is scheduled for September. | |
