| Program Funnels Infringement Suits to Judges for Patent Expertise |
| Patent suits filed in the Northern District of Texas may be funneled to a panel of judges if the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts approves the district's March 18 application to participate in a pilot program. "The goal is to have a smaller group of judges who develop expertise in patent cases. It's not so much who it is, as opposed to expertise," says U.S. District Judge David Godbey of Dallas, who chaired a panel of five Northern District judges who submitted the application. |
