NYT: French Finance Minister, Former Baker & McKenzie Head Favorite to Helm IMF |
French finance minister Christine Lagarde is a likely favorite to succeed Dominique Strauss-Kahn as head of the IMF, the Times reports. Kahn issued his resignation late Wednesday, four days after he was charged with sexually assaulting a maid in a New York City hotel room. Lagarde, a former chairman of Baker & McKenzie, has a lot going for her, the paper notes, including her gender. |
