| The general counsel of Dallas-based Southwest Airlines Co., led a team of lawyers to the May 2 closing of the company's acquisition of Orlando, Fla.-based AirTran Holdings Inc., a deal valued at approximately $3.2 billion. Southwest is paying approximately $1 billion in cash and stock to AirTran shareholders and taking on AirTran's debt and leases of approximately $2.2 billion. | |
